I.A.CO joined the group of freshwater experts during the 3-day workshop on the "Assessment of current and future Invasive Alien Species(IAS) in Cyprus - Horizon Scanning". Purpose of the workshop was to derive a priority ranked list of species that have the potential to arrive in Cyprus, establish and threaten biodiversity and/or ecosystem services or human health in the next 10 years.

During the workshop local experts from governmental departments, academia, NGOs and Consultancies, as well as EU and Levantine experts on freshwater and terrestrial vertebrates and invertebrares, marine species and plants, contributed with their knowhow for the deriviation of potential IAS for Cyprus.

The workshop was held on the 26-28th of April 2017 and was organised by the Centre for Ecology and Hydrology, the Joint Services Health Unit and the Department of Biological Sciences of the University of Cyprus in the context of a Darwin Initiative.
