Strategic Plan, Strategic Environmental Assessment, EIAs, Feasibility Study and Preparation of Construction Tender Documents for the development of Green Points (Recycling Parks – Civic Amenity Sites) in Cyprus and supervision of construction works

The overall aim of the project is the development of a national network for the collection of recyclable materials and special wastes (Green Points). The Green Points Network will substantially improve the quality of life of local communities, which is now negatively affected by the uncontrolled waste disposal sites. At the same time the project aims in the implementation of national and European legislation for the Integrated Management of Solid Waste and especially the non-hazardous household waste.

The tasks that were successfully completed and the services that were provided were:

  • Data Collection and evaluation, topographic surveying and urban assessment of the proposed sites
  • Strategic Plan for the development of the Green Points national network, which included:
    • assessment of the current conditions,
    • feasibility study,
    • design of the network and proposal of suitable sites,
    • institutional management of the network,
    • design of monitoring plan, and
    • proposal of awareness and consultation campaigns with the public and stakeholders.
  • Strategic Environmental Assessment (SEA) for the overall Plan
  • Environmental Impact Assessments (EIA) for each proposed Green Point Site
  • Implementation Studies and Development and Construction Plans for each proposed Green Point Site
  • Preparation of Tender Documents for the construction of Green Points Sites
  • Supervision of construction works
