I.A.CO has signed a Contract with Cyta for the preparation of a Hydrological and Hydraulic Study for the flood protection of the aeronautical services equipment operated by Cyta at Larnaca Airport.
The scope of the Study is the hydrological and hydraulic analysis in order to prevent the risk of flooding of the aeronautical services equipment of Cyta at the Airport by conducting the following tasks:
- Site visit to the area and data collection.
- Recording and analysis of the existing stormwater drainage system.
- Recording and preliminary analysis of the impacts of historical floods in the area.
- Determination of the desired safety level of the flood protection system (return period).
- Hydrological analysis for the estimation of the flood flows in the area.
- Hydraulic analysis of the existing and the proposed hydraulic works.
- Recommendations for flood protection measures of the infrastructure/equipment.
The Hydrological and Hydraulic Study highlights the importance of safeguarding the Airport’s critical infrastructure against climate risks, enhancing the safety of the Airport’s operations and aligning with climate adaptation strategies.
