new project

We are conducting a flood risk assessment in the area of the Desalination Plant in Paphos District, which is located adjacent to the delta of Xeros river. Xeros river is one of the largest rivers in Cyprus and up to its delta, has a significant catchment area of more than 200km2. Upstream of the river’s delta, at a distance of 3,2km, the Asprokremmos dam is located, which is the 2nd largest dam in Cyprus. Thus, when the Dam is at its full capacity, the area of the Desalination Plant is prone to flooding.

The objective of the study is the hydrological and hydraulic analysis in order to assess the flood risk of the Plant from the river’s flood flows, and if necessary, to propose the appropriate flood protection measures.
